Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Casual Laundry Attendant to join our dedicated hotel services team at The Sebel Mandurah. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and comfort that our guests expect. You will be responsible for the efficient processing of all hotel linen, ensuring it is impeccably cleaned, pressed, and readily available for use across various departments. This position operates on a casual day roster, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work within a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial laundry equipment including washers, dryers, and ironers safely and efficiently.
- Sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron all hotel linen (bedding, towels, uniforms, etc.) according to established procedures.
- Inspect linen for stains, damage, and wear, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including equipment and storage spaces.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Assist with inventory management of linen and laundry supplies.
- Communicate effectively with other hotel departments to ensure timely delivery of clean linen.
- Handle guest laundry requests with care and discretion when required.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift, push, and pull laundry trolleys.
- Basic understanding of laundry equipment operation or willingness to learn.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laundry or hotel housekeeping role.
- Knowledge of various fabric types and appropriate cleaning methods.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a commercial laundry setting.
