Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Import Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Noosa Heads. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the end-to-end import process, ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods from origin to destination. You will be responsible for coordinating with various stakeholders, including suppliers, shipping lines, customs brokers, and internal teams, to ensure compliance with all import regulations and timely delivery. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid understanding of logistics and international trade to contribute to a leading global logistics provider.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the complete import lifecycle from order placement to final delivery.
  • Liaise with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely shipment and clearance.
  • Prepare and process all necessary import documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
  • Track and monitor shipments, providing regular updates to internal teams and clients.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the import process, such as customs delays or damaged goods.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant import regulations, customs laws, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of all import activities and documentation.
  • Collaborate with warehousing and distribution teams to facilitate efficient receipt and storage of imported goods.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries and offering solutions related to import shipments.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in import coordination or a similar logistics role.
  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
  • Experience with a global freight forwarding or logistics company.
  • Knowledge of Australian customs requirements and regulations.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
