Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced IT Field Technician to join our dynamic team, providing multi-site support across the Rockingham region. As an IT Field Technician, you will be the face of Telstra, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide array of IT hardware and software systems for our diverse client base. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to work independently across various locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of IT hardware including desktops, laptops, servers, networking equipment, and peripherals.
- Diagnose and resolve software issues, operating system problems, and application conflicts.
- Provide technical support to end-users, ensuring timely resolution of IT-related incidents and service requests.
- Configure and troubleshoot network connectivity, Wi-Fi, and remote access solutions.
- Manage and maintain IT inventory, including tracking assets and parts.
- Document all service activities, resolutions, and system configurations accurately.
- Collaborate with central IT support teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
- Adhere to company security protocols and best practices for data protection.
- Provide proactive maintenance and recommendations to improve system reliability and performance.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an IT field technician or similar support role.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware issues for PCs, laptops, and servers.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10, Server 2016/2019) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi).
- Valid Australian driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple sites.
- CompTIA A+ or equivalent certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with telecommunications equipment and services.
- Familiarity with Apple macOS and mobile device management (MDM).
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- Experience with cloud services (e.g., Office 365, Azure).
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE).
