Job Description

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Android App Engineer to join our newly formed startup team based in Swan Hill. This is a unique opportunity to be a foundational member of a nimble team, building innovative mobile solutions that will directly impact our users. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying high-quality Android applications, bringing fresh ideas and a passion for mobile technology to a startup environment supported by a major industry leader. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable Java/Kotlin code for Android applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
  • Identify and correct bottlenecks, fix bugs, and improve application performance.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with Android SDK and a strong understanding of the Android ecosystem.
  • Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.
  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
  • Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
  • Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with modern Android architecture components (ViewModel, LiveData, Room).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
  • A portfolio of published Android applications on the Google Play Store.
