Job Description
We are seeking reliable and energetic individuals to join our team as an Afternoon Sorter for casual work at our Rutherford facility. This role is crucial to our operations, ensuring that parcels and freight are sorted efficiently and accurately for timely dispatch. Ideal candidates will be detail-oriented, physically capable, and thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking for flexible afternoon shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately sort incoming and outgoing parcels and freight based on destination codes.
- Load and unload vehicles, ensuring items are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks (training provided if needed).
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet daily sorting targets.
- Report any damaged items or discrepancies to supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 25kg) consistently throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sorting tasks.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Understanding and adherence to safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or sorting environment.
- Forklift license (though not essential for this role).
- A good understanding of manual handling best practices.
