Job Description
Monadelphous is seeking dedicated and safety-conscious Sandblasting Labourers to join our industrial team in Port Pirie, South Australia. This full-time position offers weekly pay and provides a fantastic opportunity to work within a leading maintenance and construction services company in a challenging and rewarding industrial environment. As a Sandblasting Labourer, you will be crucial in preparing surfaces for painting, coating, and other industrial applications, contributing directly to the integrity and longevity of critical infrastructure and equipment. We are looking for individuals who are physically fit, have a keen eye for detail, and are committed to upholding the highest safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare various industrial surfaces (metal, concrete) for sandblasting by cleaning, masking, and setting up containment.
- Operate sandblasting equipment safely and efficiently to remove rust, old paint, and other contaminants.
- Monitor equipment performance and ensure proper abrasive levels are maintained.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of sandblasting equipment and work areas.
- Assist with other general labouring tasks as required by the site supervisor.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in an industrial setting, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in surface preparation and blasting.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an industrial or heavy construction environment.
- Current Confined Space Entry ticket.
- Current Working at Heights ticket.
- Basic understanding of different abrasive media and their applications.
- First Aid certification.
