Job Description

Are you looking for an exciting entry point into the surveying industry with full training provided? Veris Australia is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Surveying Field Assistant to join our dynamic team in Belconnen, ACT. This role offers an incredible opportunity to learn on the job, travel to diverse project sites, and contribute to significant infrastructure and development projects across the region. No prior experience is required – just a willingness to learn, a good work ethic, and a desire for adventure. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist surveyors in carrying out various field surveys (topographic, construction, cadastral).
  • Operate and maintain surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and levels.
  • Set up control points and survey markers accurately.
  • Collect and record field data meticulously.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and protocols on all project sites.
  • Travel to various project locations as required, sometimes staying overnight.
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment to a high standard.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and project stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Valid Australian Driver's License (manual preferred).
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong physical fitness and stamina.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Basic understanding of spatial concepts or maps.
  • Previous experience in outdoor or manual labor roles.
  • First Aid Certificate.
