Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and organized Laundry Sorter to join our dedicated Hotel Services team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the efficient and careful handling of all hotel linen, ensuring a continuous supply of clean, fresh items for our guests and operations. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort dirty linen, towels, and uniforms according to type, color, and fabric before washing.
- Operate commercial laundry equipment, including washers and dryers, in accordance with safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
- Fold, iron, and organize clean linen for distribution to various hotel departments.
- Inspect linen for stains or damage, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and organized laundry area, ensuring all equipment is properly cared for.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts and restocking supplies as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with other hotel staff to ensure smooth operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy loads (up to 20kg) frequently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Basic communication skills in English.
- Reliability and punctuality for regular shift patterns.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laundry or hotel environment.
- Familiarity with commercial laundry equipment.
- Basic knowledge of chemical handling and safety procedures.
