Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and physically capable Stock Picker to join our retail warehouse team in North Lakes. This entry-level position is crucial for maintaining an organized and well-stocked sales floor and storage area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately picking, moving, and organizing inventory, ensuring products are readily available for our customers and store team. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment. Please note, this role is focused on manual stock handling and does not involve customer phone support.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and retrieve products from warehouse locations based on picking lists and store replenishment needs.
- Safely transport stock to designated areas, including the sales floor, storage bays, and dispatch zones.
- Assist with receiving and unloading incoming inventory, verifying counts against delivery documentation.
- Organize and maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of warehouse shelves, aisles, and storage areas.
- Perform regular stock checks and assist with inventory management tasks as required.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (e.g., pallet jacks, trolleys), after appropriate training.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals and maintain a high level of efficiency.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy items repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in picking and counting.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for reading picking lists and product labels.
- Physical stamina and fitness to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, retail, or similar physical role.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other manual handling equipment.
- Understanding of basic safety procedures in a warehouse environment.
