Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Inventory Control Clerk to join our dynamic team in Bowen. This full-time position involves working various shifts to maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring smooth operations within our logistics facility. The role is hands-on, focusing on physical inventory management and system data integrity, with no direct phone customer service responsibilities. You will be instrumental in optimizing stock levels and supporting our operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cycle counts and physical inventory checks accurately.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate root causes to maintain data integrity.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and transaction data within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Process incoming and outgoing stock movements, ensuring correct documentation and system updates.
- Monitor stock levels and identify potential shortages or overstocks proactively.
- Assist with the organization and layout of the warehouse for optimal space utilization and efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Generate comprehensive inventory reports as required by management for decision-making.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) in inventory control, warehousing, or logistics operations.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and physical counts.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and general inventory software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills for problem-solving.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and move inventory as needed in a warehouse environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current forklift license (LF class).
- Experience with SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Certificate III in Logistics or Supply Chain Operations.
- Familiarity with lean inventory principles and practices.
