Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Medic to join our dynamic team supporting critical mining and construction operations in the Mackay region of Queensland. This role is essential for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all personnel on site. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing immediate medical care, conducting health assessments, managing medical emergencies, and contributing to overall site safety protocols. This is an on-site position requiring a strong commitment to safety and a proactive approach to health services in challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide immediate and advanced first aid and emergency medical care to all personnel on site.
• Respond promptly to all medical emergencies, including trauma and medical incidents.
• Conduct daily health checks and routine medical assessments as required.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and incident reports.
• Manage and maintain the on-site medical facility, equipment, and supplies.
• Collaborate with site management and safety teams to implement health and safety policies.
• Conduct drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company policy.
• Provide health education and promotion to site personnel.
• Assist with injury management and return-to-work programs.
• Participate in emergency response drills and training exercises.

Required Skills

• Registered Paramedic (AHPRA registered) or Registered Nurse (AHPRA registered) with emergency experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an emergency medical setting (e.g., ambulance service, emergency department, remote site).
• Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid Australian Driver's License.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and medical record software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Site Medic in a mining, construction, or remote industrial environment.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Paramedicine or Nursing.
• Certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), or equivalent.
• Drug and Alcohol Screening Officer certification.
• Current White Card (Construction Induction).
