Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and professional Security Marshall to join our team for a part-time night roster in Kingston, ACT. This vital role involves maintaining a secure environment, responding to incidents, and ensuring the safety of personnel and property during night hours. The ideal candidate will possess excellent observational skills, a calm demeanor under pressure, and a commitment to professional conduct. This position is perfect for individuals looking for stable part-time work with a leading security provider.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas during night shifts, ensuring all entry and exit points are secured.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, including CCTV, and respond promptly to any alarms or suspicious activities.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all personnel and visitors.
- Log all incidents, observations, and activities accurately and promptly in daily reports.
- Provide professional and courteous assistance to staff, visitors, and emergency services when required.
- Respond to and manage emergency situations, including first aid incidents, evacuations, and security breaches.
- Liaise effectively with management, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Perform access control duties, verifying credentials for entry and exit during night operations.
Required Skills
- Current Australian Security Licence (Class 1AC)
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificates
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong observational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team during night shifts
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for report writing and surveillance monitoring
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a security marshall or similar role, particularly in a commercial or corporate environment
- Experience with security software and alarm systems
- Knowledge of local security regulations and emergency protocols in the ACT
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transport
