Job Description
Are you looking for a rewarding entry-level role in healthcare where you can make a real difference in people’s lives? Queensland Health is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join our team as Patient Transport Assistants in Tully. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with all the necessary skills and knowledge. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the safe and comfortable transportation of patients within our facilities and to various departments, ensuring a smooth and supportive experience during their care journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport patients via wheelchairs, trolleys, and beds to and from various hospital departments (e.g., wards, clinics, operating theatres, diagnostic imaging).
- Assist patients with transfers, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare staff to coordinate transport and address any concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of transport equipment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and patient handling procedures.
- Provide basic assistance and support to patients during transport, responding to their needs respectfully.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, incidents, or patient concerns to the appropriate nursing or supervisory staff.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs as required.
