Job Description

Are you passionate about the outdoors and eager to learn the art of viticulture? Tyrrell’s Wines is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Vineyard Assistant to join our team in Pokolbin, Hunter Valley. This is an incredible opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience, as full comprehensive training will be provided. You will play a vital role in maintaining our award-winning vineyards, contributing to every stage of the grape-growing cycle, from pruning to harvest. This role is physically demanding and requires a strong work ethic and a love for working in a natural environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform vineyard maintenance tasks including pruning, trellising, shoot thinning, and leaf plucking.
  • Assist with irrigation management and vine nutrition programs.
  • Monitor vine health, identifying pests, diseases, and nutritional deficiencies.
  • Operate and maintain vineyard machinery and equipment under supervision (training provided).
  • Participate in grape harvesting activities, both manual and machine-assisted.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of vineyard equipment and work areas.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Work collaboratively with the vineyard team to achieve operational goals.
  • Contribute to sustainable vineyard practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manual driver's license (essential for some vineyard locations).

  • A genuine interest in wine production and viticulture.
