Job Description
Are you passionate about technology and public service? Accenture is seeking a dedicated Public Sector IT Support Specialist with a strong network focus to join our team in Albany, NY. In this vital role, you will be instrumental in supporting mission-critical IT infrastructure for our government clients, ensuring seamless operation and robust security of their network systems. You will provide front-line and escalated technical support, troubleshoot complex network issues, and maintain high availability for essential public services. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level technical support for network-related issues, including LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, and wireless connectivity for public sector clients.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems affecting network infrastructure and end-user connectivity.
- Monitor network performance and security, identifying potential vulnerabilities and implementing corrective actions.
- Install, configure, and maintain network devices, operating systems, and applications in a secure public sector environment.
- Assist with network upgrades, migrations, and deployments, ensuring minimal disruption to critical services.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaborate with senior network engineers and other IT teams to escalate and resolve complex technical problems.
- Educate end-users on network best practices and security awareness.
- Adhere to strict public sector security protocols and compliance standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in IT support with a strong focus on network troubleshooting and administration.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and common networking protocols.
- Experience with network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, or Fortinet.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Ability to obtain and maintain public trust or security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, JNCIA).
- Prior experience working in a public sector, government, or highly regulated environment.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG).
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
