Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sustainability Data Analyst to join our Corporate ESG team. This is a fully remote role, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere in Australia while contributing to NAB’s critical sustainability initiatives. You will be instrumental in collecting, analysing, and reporting on ESG data, supporting our corporate sustainability strategy, and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements and global reporting standards. Key Responsibilities
- Collect, validate, and manage large datasets related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance across various business units.
- Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, measure impact, and provide actionable insights for sustainability initiatives.
- Prepare comprehensive ESG reports and disclosures in accordance with international frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) and internal requirements.
- Develop and maintain data dashboards and visualisation tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress towards sustainability targets.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, risk, operations, and communications teams, to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Stay abreast of emerging ESG trends, regulations, and best practices to inform data collection and reporting methodologies.
- Support the development and implementation of new data collection systems and processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects and research related to corporate sustainability and responsible banking.
- Ensure data integrity and uphold strict confidentiality standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in data analysis, particularly with large, complex datasets.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
- Strong experience with Microsoft Excel for data manipulation and reporting.
- Familiarity with global ESG reporting frameworks and standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, SDGs).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Certifications in sustainability or ESG (e.g., Certified Sustainability Professional, FSA Credential).
- Experience with specific ESG data management platforms or reporting software.
- Knowledge of the financial services industry and its ESG challenges and opportunities.
- Experience in project management.
