Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Jetty Maintenance Hand to join our team in Whyalla, South Australia. This is a full-time, outdoor role essential for ensuring the operational integrity and safety of our critical marine infrastructure. The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of maintenance tasks, working in a dynamic coastal environment. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of jetty structures, pilings, decking, and associated equipment.
- Conduct minor repairs including carpentry, painting, welding (basic), and surface preparation.
- Assist with the installation and repair of marine fenders, bollards, and navigational aids.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively for maintenance tasks.
- Participate in cleaning operations to remove debris, marine growth, and other contaminants.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any structural damage or safety concerns.
- Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to complete projects efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven physical fitness and ability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Experience with basic hand and power tools relevant to maintenance work.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying maintenance needs.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in marine, civil, or heavy industrial maintenance.
- Trade qualification in carpentry, steel fabrication, or a related field.
- Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights certifications.
- Forklift or EWP (Elevated Work Platform) license.
- First Aid certification.
