Job Description
Chemist Warehouse Werribee is offering an exciting paid Pharmacy Student Placement for aspiring pharmacy professionals. This internship provides an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on retail pharmacy experience in a supportive and dynamic environment. You will work alongside experienced pharmacists and pharmacy assistants, learning the day-to-day operations of a busy community pharmacy, engaging with customers, and supporting our team in delivering exceptional health services. This role is perfect for students seeking practical experience to complement their academic studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting pharmacists with dispensing duties and medication management under direct supervision.
- Providing exceptional customer service, including answering patient queries and directing them to appropriate products or services.
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and professional retail environment.
- Assisting with stock management, including receiving, shelving, and inventory control.
- Operating the point-of-sale system and handling transactions accurately.
- Supporting the team with administrative tasks and general store operations.
- Adhering to all health and safety regulations and pharmacy guidelines.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent program.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine interest in community pharmacy and patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Eligibility to work in Australia.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience (retail or hospitality).
- Knowledge of common over-the-counter medications.
- First Aid certification.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team.
