Job Description

Are you passionate about sustainable agriculture and eager to start your career in a cutting-edge farming environment? Costa Group’s Mildura operations are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Hydroponic Farm Hand. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to work with modern hydroponic technology, learn best practices in controlled environment agriculture, and contribute to the production of high-quality fresh produce. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive training to help you succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with planting, nurturing, and harvesting crops within our hydroponic systems.
  • Monitor plant health, nutrient levels, and environmental conditions (temperature, humidity) as directed.
  • Perform general maintenance and cleaning of hydroponic systems, equipment, and growing areas.
  • Prepare growing media and nutrient solutions according to established protocols.
  • Support pest and disease management initiatives using integrated pest management (IPM) techniques.
  • Record data related to plant growth, yields, and operational activities accurately.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and quality assurance standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient farm operations.

  • Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent attention to detail and observation skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a farm, nursery, or similar agricultural setting (even non-hydroponic).

  • Experience with basic hand tools or agricultural equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
