Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Dog Daycare Supervisor to join our fun and dynamic team on a casual day roster. As a supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our daycare, overseeing the welfare and activities of our furry clients, and leading a small team of passionate attendants. This role is perfect for someone who loves dogs, has a strong sense of responsibility, and thrives in a lively, fast-paced environment. You’ll be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and clean space for all our canine friends.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage daily dog daycare operations, ensuring a safe and stimulating environment for all dogs.
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of Dog Daycare Attendants, delegating tasks and providing guidance.
- Monitor dog behavior, identify potential conflicts, and implement appropriate intervention strategies to maintain harmony.
- Conduct temperament assessments for new dogs joining the daycare.
- Administer medication and provide basic first aid to dogs as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards of the facility, including play areas, kennels, and common spaces.
- Communicate effectively with dog owners regarding their dog's day, behavior, and any concerns.
- Handle customer inquiries, bookings, and payments.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Develop and implement engaging activities and enrichment programs for dogs.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in dog handling and supervision in a professional setting (e.g., dog daycare, kennel, shelter).
- Strong understanding of canine body language and behavior.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Reliable, responsible, and a genuine passion for animal welfare.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 20kg, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate II or III in Animal Studies, Vet Nursing Assistant, or a related field.
- First Aid certification for animals.
- Previous supervisory or team lead experience.
- Experience with a variety of dog breeds and temperaments.
