Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Renewable Energy Lead to drive strategic projects within our growing portfolio. This role is pivotal in identifying, evaluating, and executing new renewable energy initiatives, focusing on projects that align with AGL’s long-term sustainability goals. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and ensure the successful delivery of projects from concept to commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, assessment, and development of new renewable energy projects (solar, wind, storage).
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and financial modeling for potential projects.
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with landowners, government agencies, community groups, and industry partners.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, contractors, and partners.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and strategic guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop junior project team members.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 8 years) in renewable energy project development and management.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies (solar PV, wind turbines, battery storage).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects from inception to completion.
  • Excellent financial modeling, risk assessment, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., MBA, Renewable Energy Engineering).
  • PMP or other recognised project management certification.
  • Experience with Australian energy markets and regulatory frameworks.
  • Knowledge of grid connection processes and network infrastructure.
