Job Description

Join the Capilano Honey team as a Seasonal Honey Harvester! We’re seeking energetic and reliable individuals to support our beekeeping operations during the peak harvesting season. This casual role offers an incredible opportunity to work outdoors in the beautiful Sunshine Coast region, contributing to the production of high-quality Australian honey. You’ll be an essential part of our team, involved in the crucial steps of bringing honey from the hive to our facilities. This is a physically demanding role suitable for those who enjoy manual work and don’t mind getting a little sticky.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist beekeepers with the manual removal of honey supers from hives.
  • Load and unload honey supers onto vehicles.
  • Operate basic beekeeping equipment under supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and food handling standards.
  • Work effectively as part of a team in various outdoor conditions.

Required Skills

  • Strong physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) repeatedly.
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • No allergies to bee stings (highly recommended).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in agriculture, farming, or physical labor roles.
  • Valid Australian driver's license and reliable transport.
  • Basic understanding of beekeeping practices (not essential, training provided).
