Job Description
Are you an early bird with a passion for maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen? Coles is looking for a dedicated and energetic Morning Kitchen Hand to join our Port Augusta team on a part-time roster. In this vital role, you will support our in-store deli and bakery operations, ensuring all kitchen areas are spotless, equipment is clean, and food preparation runs smoothly. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, is reliable, and enjoys working as part of a supportive team. You will be instrumental in upholding our high standards of hygiene and food safety, contributing directly to a pleasant shopping experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain hygiene standards.
- Wash dishes, pots, and pans manually or using a dishwasher.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and general meal assembly as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, walls, and storage areas within the kitchen.
- Receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper rotation of stock.
- Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately.
- Assist the culinary team with ad-hoc tasks as required to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Adhere to all food safety and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.

- Reliability and punctuality for early morning shifts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment (6+ months).
- Current Food Handler's Certificate.
- Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment.
