Job Description
Join the dedicated team at De Bortoli Wines as a Vineyard Maintenance Hand for year-round, ongoing work at our acclaimed Riverina vineyards near Griffith, NSW. This full-time role offers a stable opportunity to contribute to the success of our viticultural operations. You will be an integral part of maintaining the health and productivity of our vines, ensuring optimal conditions for grape growth and harvest. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a passion for agriculture.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general vineyard duties including pruning, trellising, wire lifting, and canopy management.
- Operate various vineyard machinery and equipment (tractors, sprayers, forklifts) safely and efficiently.
- Assist with irrigation system installation, maintenance, and monitoring.
- Undertake weed control and pest management activities.
- Participate in grape harvesting activities during vintage.
- Conduct general farm maintenance, including fencing and infrastructure repairs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and vineyard observations.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Basic understanding of agricultural practices or a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid Australian Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in viticulture, horticulture, or agricultural settings (minimum 12 months).
- Experience operating tractors and other farm machinery.
- Chemical user certificate (ACUP or equivalent).
- Forklift license (LF class).
