Job Description
Are you eager to launch your career in architecture and construction with a focus on cutting-edge design technology? Fairbrother Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated Cadet Draftsperson to join our dynamic team in Devonport. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals passionate about learning Revit and Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles from the ground up. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to exciting projects across Tasmania while developing essential skills in technical drafting and design.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior draftspersons and designers with various drafting tasks.
- Learn and apply Revit software to create and modify architectural and structural drawings under guidance.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and understand project workflows and standards.
- Prepare basic drawings, schedules, and documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain and organize project files, drawing registers, and digital assets.
- Support the broader design and construction team with administrative tasks as required.
- Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
Required Skills
- Strong desire to learn and grow in the drafting and design field.
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with a proactive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a structured environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a focus on technical subjects (e.g., design and technology, mathematics).
- Prior exposure to technical drawing or basic design software (even non-professional) is an advantage.
