Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly energetic Glassie to join our team for night shifts at our bustling Footscray venue. As a Glassie, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our bar and club, particularly during peak hours. Your main responsibilities will involve the efficient collection, washing, and restocking of glassware, along with maintaining a clean and safe environment. This role requires exceptional stamina, a proactive approach, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, vibrant atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently collect empty glasses and bottles from bar areas and patron tables, prioritizing safety.
- Operate and maintain commercial glasswashing equipment to ensure a continuous supply of clean glassware.
- Sort, clean, and meticulously restock all types of glassware to designated bar stations.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene across bar areas, floors, and general public spaces throughout your shift.
- Provide proactive support to bar staff, assisting with stock replenishment, ice management, and basic setup tasks as needed.
- Strictly adhere to all venue health, safety, and hygiene regulations and procedures.
- Be available to work primarily during evening and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as part of a rotating roster.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated high level of physical energy, stamina, and ability to remain active for extended periods.
- Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively in a demanding, fast-paced, and potentially noisy environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality are essential for night shift operations.
- Excellent team player with a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to support colleagues.
- Full availability for night shifts, weekends, and public holidays is mandatory.
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification or willingness to obtain it prior to commencement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a similar hospitality support role (e.g., bar support, kitchen hand) is highly regarded.
- Familiarity with the operation and basic maintenance of commercial glasswashing equipment.
- A sound understanding of basic hygiene and safety protocols within a licensed venue.
