Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and physically fit Turf Farm Hand to join our dynamic team in Jandakot. This active role involves various tasks related to turf cultivation, harvesting, and preparation for delivery. If you enjoy working outdoors, are reliable, and possess a strong work ethic, we encourage you to apply. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of turf farming, including planting, irrigation, fertilisation, and pest control.
- Operate various farm machinery and equipment (e.g., mowers, tractors, forklifts) safely and efficiently (training provided where necessary).
- Perform manual labour tasks such as stacking turf pallets, preparing soil, and general farm maintenance.
- Load and unload turf rolls and pallets, ensuring proper handling and quality control.
- Monitor turf health and report any issues or concerns to the farm supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the farm, equipment, and work areas.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures at all times.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform demanding tasks, including heavy lifting.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in an outdoor environment, in varying weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of agricultural practices (advantageous but not essential).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Australian Driver's License (manual highly regarded).
- Experience operating farm machinery or forklifts (LF ticket).
- Previous experience in horticulture, landscaping, or agriculture.
- First Aid certification.
