Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Blow Molding Operator to join our manufacturing team in Fyshwick, ACT. As a Blow Molding Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining blow molding machinery to produce high-quality plastic products. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and continuous operation of our production lines, contributing directly to our product quality and delivery targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor blow molding machines according to production schedules and specifications.
- Perform routine machine adjustments, changeovers, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal production efficiency.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet all required standards and specifications.
- Load raw materials (plastic resins) into machine hoppers and manage material flow.
- Monitor machine parameters, temperatures, and pressures, making adjustments as necessary.
- Document production activities, quality control results, and machine performance data accurately.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on machinery and report any major mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment (plastics preferred).
- Basic understanding of blow molding processes and machinery.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules and technical documents.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift materials, and perform repetitive tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; trade qualification in manufacturing or a related field is a plus.
- Forklift license.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Familiarity with HMI (Human-Machine Interface) systems.
