Job Description
Join AnglicareSA as a Mediation Assistant within our dedicated Community Services team. This vital role supports our mediators in facilitating constructive dialogue and dispute resolution for individuals, families, and community groups facing various challenges. You will play a crucial part in ensuring smooth mediation processes, managing administrative tasks, and contributing to a supportive environment where positive outcomes can be achieved. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to mediators, including scheduling appointments, preparing documents, and maintaining confidential client records.
- Assist in the preparation of mediation sessions, including setting up meeting spaces and ensuring all necessary resources are available.
- Act as an initial point of contact for clients, offering empathetic and professional communication and directing inquiries appropriately.
- Conduct preliminary client intake, gathering essential information and explaining the mediation process clearly and concisely.
- Support the coordination of community programs and workshops related to conflict resolution and communication skills.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client databases and program statistics, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with the wider Community Services team to ensure integrated service delivery.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of mediation services through feedback and active participation in team meetings.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong client-centred approach.
- Proficiency in administrative tasks, including data entry, scheduling, and document management.
- High level of empathy, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Competency in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or certificate in Community Services, Social Work, Conflict Resolution, or a related field.
- Previous experience in an administrative or support role within a community services or non-profit setting.
- Understanding of mediation principles and dispute resolution processes.
- Cultural competency and experience working with diverse populations.
- Current South Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
