Job Description
As an Anti-Fraud Specialist at NRMA Insurance in Warrnambool, you will play a critical role in protecting our customers and our business from fraudulent activities. You will be responsible for investigating suspicious claims, identifying fraud patterns, and implementing strategies to mitigate risks. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth investigations into suspicious insurance claims, including data analysis, witness interviews, and evidence gathering.
- Identify and analyze fraud trends and patterns to develop proactive prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams (claims, legal, underwriting) and external stakeholders (police, industry bodies) to resolve fraud cases.
- Prepare comprehensive investigation reports and maintain accurate case documentation.
- Utilize advanced analytics tools and techniques to detect and deter fraudulent activities.
- Educate and advise claims staff on fraud indicators and best practices for prevention.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging fraud schemes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in fraud investigation, risk management, or a related field, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conducting sensitive interviews and presenting findings.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and ethical conduct.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Criminology, Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certifications in fraud examination (e.g., CFE).
- Experience with claims management systems and fraud detection software.
- Knowledge of Australian insurance law and regulatory compliance.
