Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and physically fit Fencing Labourer to join our dynamic team, specializing in rural fencing projects. This full-time role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, primarily on farms and rural properties throughout the Horsham area and surrounding Wimmera region. You will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of fence construction and repair, from site preparation to final installation. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to safety. Weekly pay ensures consistent remuneration for your efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of fence lines, including clearing vegetation and debris.
- Digging post holes manually or using power tools.
- Handling, lifting, and setting fence posts (timber, steel, concrete).
- Stretching and securing various types of fencing wire (barbed, plain, netting).
- Assembling and installing gates, strainers, and other fencing components.
- Operating basic hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment from vehicles.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work site.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Working effectively as part of a team under supervision.
Required Skills
- Excellent physical fitness and stamina for manual labour.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in fencing, landscaping, construction, or general labouring.
- Valid Australian Driver's License (manual transmission preferred).
- Construction Induction White Card.
- Experience operating small machinery (e.g., post-hole digger, chainsaw).
