Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Border Force Admin Assistant to provide essential administrative support at our airport and port locations. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of border processing and enforcement activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks, including data entry, records management, scheduling, and general office support, all within a high-security and fast-paced environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to Australia’s national security and work alongside dedicated professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to Border Force officers and teams.
- Manage and maintain accurate records, databases, and filing systems (digital and physical).
- Assist with data entry and processing of traveler and cargo information.
- Coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for staff.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence as required.
- Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls and emails.
- Manage office supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper functioning.
- Assist with the induction of new staff and provide general front-desk support.
- Adhere strictly to all security protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Support operational teams with ad-hoc administrative tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an administrative or office support role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Capacity to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
- Australian Citizenship is mandatory for security clearance purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a government, law enforcement, or security-sensitive environment.
- Knowledge of border protection processes and procedures.
- Certificate III or IV in Business Administration or a related field.
