Job Description
The University Program Assistant for Academic Support will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of academic programs and services within our faculty. This position involves providing administrative support to academic staff, assisting students with enquiries, and coordinating various program-related activities. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a proactive approach to supporting a dynamic academic environment. This is an on-site position based at our Perth campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to academic staff, including scheduling, correspondence, and document preparation.
- Assist in the coordination and organization of academic events, workshops, and seminars.
- Manage student enquiries, provide information on program requirements, and direct students to appropriate resources.
- Maintain accurate student records and program documentation in compliance with university policies.
- Support the development and distribution of program materials, including course outlines and handbooks.
- Liaise with various university departments to ensure seamless program operations.
- Assist with data entry and report generation related to academic performance and program metrics.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of academic support services.
Required Skills
- Proven administrative experience, preferably within an educational or university setting.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Education).
- Experience with student information systems (e.g., Callista, PeopleSoft).
- Familiarity with university policies and procedures.
