Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our casual team as Stagehand Assistants in Rockingham, WA. This entry-level role is perfect for someone looking to gain experience in the exciting world of live events, productions, and entertainment. As a Stagehand Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the successful setup, operation, and pack-down of various events, ensuring all technical and staging requirements are met safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the loading and unloading of event equipment, staging, and technical gear.
- Help in the assembly and disassembly of stages, sets, and backdrops according to technical plans.
- Support lighting, sound, and video technicians with equipment placement and cable management.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all health and safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the backstage areas and equipment storage.
- Follow instructions from stage managers, technical directors, and senior crew members.
- Perform general manual labor tasks as required to support event production.
- Assist with event changeovers and quick resets during live productions.
Required Skills
- Strong physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25kg) comfortably.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to assigned shifts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to various tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in event setup, warehousing, or a similar physically demanding role.
- Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in event production.
- Current White Card (General Construction Induction Training) or willingness to obtain one.
- Forklift license (LF class) or other heavy machinery experience.
- Availability for irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
