Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Solar Thermal Technician to join our growing Green Energy division in Wangaratta, VIC. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar thermal systems for both residential and commercial clients. You will play a key part in expanding our renewable energy footprint, ensuring systems operate at peak efficiency, and providing exceptional service to our customers. Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and maintain solar thermal hot water systems according to industry standards and company guidelines.
- Perform diagnostic checks and troubleshoot issues with solar thermal collectors, pumps, controllers, and associated plumbing.
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and longevity.
- Educate customers on system operation, maintenance, and energy-saving practices.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and system performance data.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to ensure timely project completion.
- Provide on-call support for emergency repairs as required.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in solar thermal installation or a related plumbing/electrical field.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical diagrams.
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems and basic electrical principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant vocational training or certification in solar thermal technology or plumbing.
- Experience with various types of solar thermal systems (flat plate, evacuated tube).
- Working at Heights certification.
- First Aid certification.
