Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Public Relations Account Executive with a strong media focus to join our thriving team in Subiaco, Perth. This role is ideal for an individual passionate about media relations, storytelling, and building impactful campaigns. As an Account Executive, you will be instrumental in supporting senior team members, executing PR strategies, and fostering strong relationships with journalists and influencers. Your primary focus will be on media outreach, content development for media pitching, and monitoring media coverage. You will work across a range of exciting clients, helping them to enhance their public profiles and achieve their communication objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media contacts across print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
- Draft compelling press releases, media alerts, pitches, and other communication materials tailored for media consumption.
- Actively pitch stories and secure media coverage for clients in target publications and channels.
- Monitor media for client mentions and relevant industry news, providing insightful analysis and reporting.
- Assist in the development and implementation of PR strategies and campaigns.
- Coordinate media events, press conferences, and interviews.
- Support senior account managers with daily client management tasks and reporting.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify media trends, client opportunities, and competitive landscapes.
- Prepare comprehensive media coverage reports and post-campaign evaluations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) in public relations, with a significant focus on media relations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and compelling storytelling.
- Demonstrated ability to build and nurture relationships with journalists and media professionals.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadlines.
- Proficiency in media monitoring and PR database tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision).
- Understanding of the Australian media landscape.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
- Previous agency experience.
- Experience with social media content creation and influencer relations.
- Familiarity with digital analytics and reporting.
