Job Description
Are you an early riser with a passion for fresh food and a knack for organisation? Coles in Kalgoorlie is seeking a dedicated and reliable Morning Prep Hand to join our friendly team. In this part-time role, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring our fresh food departments are ready for our customers each day. This involves preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment, and supporting the broader team with morning tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Perform early morning food preparation tasks including washing, chopping, and portioning fresh ingredients.
- Ensure all food preparation areas, equipment, and utensils are cleaned and sanitised according to strict food safety standards.
- Assist with receiving and rotating stock to maintain freshness and minimise waste.
- Follow all company policies and procedures regarding food handling, hygiene, and safety.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient morning operations.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management promptly.
Required Skills
- Reliability and punctuality for early morning shifts.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices (or willingness to learn quickly).
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and perform repetitive tasks.
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a kitchen, food preparation, or retail environment.
- Knowledge of HACCP or other food safety regulations.
- Availability to work early mornings, including weekends and public holidays as required.
