Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Systems Data Auditor to join our growing team in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. In this ongoing role, you will be crucial in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of our clients’ data systems and information. You will perform comprehensive audits of data processes, systems, and controls, identifying discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for improvement. This position requires a strong understanding of data governance, compliance standards, and a keen eye for detail to maintain the highest levels of data quality and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough data audits across various systems and platforms to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Develop and implement audit plans, methodologies, and test procedures.
  • Identify data inconsistencies, errors, and potential fraud, reporting findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of data controls and make recommendations for enhancements.
  • Collaborate with IT, compliance, and business units to understand data flows and system functionalities.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to management, outlining risks and proposing corrective actions.
  • Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and track their effectiveness.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, APPs), and auditing standards.
  • Provide expert advice on data integrity and security matters.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in data auditing, systems auditing, or a related analytical role.
  • Strong understanding of database systems (SQL, Oracle), data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI) and audit software.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and industry compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify anomalies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and stakeholder interaction.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis and automation.
  • Experience in a consulting environment or large enterprise.
