Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and physically capable Core Driller Assistant to join our mining and civil support operations in Armidale. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals eager to start a career in the resources sector, providing essential support to our experienced drilling teams. You will be responsible for assisting with core drilling activities, maintaining equipment, ensuring site safety, and contributing to efficient project execution. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience and develop new skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced drillers with all aspects of core drilling operations.
- Prepare, clean, and maintain drilling equipment and tools.
- Handle and transport drill rods, core barrels, and samples safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work site, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Monitor drilling fluid levels and assist with mixing as required.
- Conduct pre-start checks on vehicles and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Assist with basic site setup and pack-down procedures.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety and following instructions.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Current Australian C-Class Driver's License.
- Excellent work ethic and reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Previous experience in a laboring or outdoor work environment.
- Heavy Rigid (HR) or Medium Rigid (MR) Driver's License.
