Job Description

Join RPS Group as a Building Surveyor Intern, focusing on legislative compliance within our dynamic property and infrastructure team. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior building surveyors in conducting site inspections to assess compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Research and interpret building legislation, regulations, and codes to provide accurate advice.
  • Prepare preliminary reports and documentation related to building code assessments and compliance checks.
  • Support the team in reviewing architectural plans and specifications for regulatory adherence.
  • Shadow experienced surveyors during client meetings and official consultations.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases of compliance documentation.
  • Contribute to the development of internal compliance guidelines and best practices.
  • Learn about various aspects of building design, construction, and post-occupancy compliance.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a Bachelor's degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC) and Australian Standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous volunteer or project experience in a construction or property-related field.
