Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and meticulous ABS Survey Officers for Field Research Assistance in Port Pirie. In this vital temporary role, you will be a frontline representative of the Australian Bureau of Statistics, responsible for collecting accurate data directly from households and businesses. Your work will contribute to nationally significant surveys that provide critical insights into Australia’s economic and social landscape. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to data quality, and the ability to work independently in the field. Training will be provided to ensure you are fully equipped for the tasks ahead.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct face-to-face interviews with selected households and businesses using a tablet or laptop.
- Accurately record survey responses in accordance with ABS guidelines and procedures.
- Manage and resolve respondent queries professionally and sensitively.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of all collected data.
- Adhere to survey timelines and reporting requirements.
- Travel within assigned Port Pirie and surrounding areas to conduct interviews.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings as required.
- Uphold the integrity and reputation of the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

- Proficiency in using digital devices (tablets/laptops) for data entry.

- Valid Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
