Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Fruit Pickers to join our agricultural operations in the Belconnen area. This is a temporary position, ideal for individuals looking to complete their 88 days of specified work for visa purposes or those seeking seasonal employment. You will be responsible for carefully picking and handling various fruits according to quality standards and productivity targets. Accommodation is available for successful candidates. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to work hard and be part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carefully pick and harvest various fruits by hand, following specific instructions and quality guidelines.
- Sort and pack picked fruit into appropriate containers, ensuring minimal damage.
- Work efficiently to meet daily picking targets and maintain productivity standards.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and farm policies.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
- Report any fruit quality issues or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform repetitive tasks, bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail to ensure fruit quality.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, and rain.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in agricultural work or manual labour is a plus, but not required.
- Valid driver's license and own transportation.
- Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
