Job Description
Join the AACo team as an Entry-Level Cattle Mustering Assistant in the Mildura region. This full-time, on-site role is perfect for individuals looking to start a career in the Australian cattle industry. While prior mustering experience isn’t required, a passion for working with horses and a willingness to learn are essential. You will work closely with experienced stockmen and women, assisting with the movement and management of cattle, learning valuable skills in a supportive environment. This is a hands-on role requiring physical fitness and a strong commitment to animal welfare and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced stockmen and women with cattle mustering operations, including drafting, droving, and yard work.
- Learn and apply safe and effective horsemanship techniques for cattle handling.
- Maintain and care for horses, including saddling, feeding, and basic health checks.
- Assist with fence repairs, water point maintenance, and other general station duties.
- Operate basic farm machinery and equipment under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to animal welfare guidelines and safety protocols.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.
Required Skills
- Basic horse handling skills and comfort around horses.
- Strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in demanding outdoor conditions.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with horses (riding, care).
- Experience working on a farm or in a rural setting.
- A current driver's license (manual preferred).
