Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Council Labourer to join our Parks team in Redcliffe. This full-time position offers steady work from Monday to Friday, contributing to the upkeep and beautification of Moreton Bay’s cherished public spaces. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general grounds maintenance tasks including mowing, whipper snipping, pruning, and weeding.
- Operate various hand tools and small plant equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with landscaping projects, including planting, mulching, and irrigation maintenance.
- Maintain cleanliness and presentation of parks, playgrounds, and public amenity areas.
- Conduct routine checks and minor repairs on park infrastructure.
- Adhere to all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
- Report maintenance issues and hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and council staff.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance or a similar outdoor labouring role.
- Ability to operate various grounds maintenance equipment (mowers, whipper snippers, blowers).
- Strong understanding and commitment to WHS practices.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions.
- Valid Australian Driver's License (manual preferred).
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current White Card (Construction Induction).
- First Aid certification.
- Experience with basic landscaping and irrigation systems.
- Formal qualification in horticulture, parks and gardens, or a related field.
