Job Description
Are you eager to kickstart a hands-on career in a growing industry? Swimart Darwin is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Pool Maintenance Trainee to join our dynamic team. No prior experience is required – we are committed to providing comprehensive, on-the-job training to equip you with all the skills needed to become a certified pool maintenance professional. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working outdoors, enjoys physical activity, and is passionate about learning a valuable trade.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist experienced technicians with routine pool and spa maintenance tasks, including cleaning, testing water chemistry, and adding chemicals.
- Learn to identify and troubleshoot common pool equipment issues under supervision.
- Support the installation and repair of pool pumps, filters, and other equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organised work vehicle and equipment.
- Interact professionally with clients, answering basic questions and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Complete all training modules and assessments as required.
Required Skills
- Eagerness to learn and a positive 'can-do' attitude.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid Australian Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in equipment operation.
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
