Job Description
Anglicare Australia in Wagga Wagga is offering an invaluable Youth Work Placement opportunity for individuals seeking to gain practical, hands-on experience in the youth services sector. This placement is designed for students or aspiring youth workers who need to complete field hours as part of their studies or professional development. You will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to programs that support young people in our community. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and delivery of youth programs and activities.
- Support young people in one-on-one and group settings, under supervision.
- Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for youth participants.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development sessions.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
- Adhere to all organisational policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
- Engage with community partners and stakeholders as part of program delivery.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Youth Work, Social Work, Community Services).
- Strong passion for working with young people and making a positive impact.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and resilience.
- Willingness to learn and take initiative.
- Valid Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous volunteer experience in youth or community settings.
- Basic understanding of youth development principles and challenges.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
