Job Description
Are you eager to start a career in the wine industry but have no prior experience? Accolade Wines Australia is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Viticulture Assistant to join our team in Geelong, Victoria. This is an incredible entry-level opportunity to learn the fundamentals of viticulture directly from experienced professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general vineyard maintenance tasks, including pruning, trellising, and canopy management.
- Participate in grape harvesting, both manual and machine-assisted, during vintage periods.
- Monitor vine health, identifying and reporting signs of pests, diseases, or nutritional deficiencies.
- Operate basic vineyard machinery and equipment under supervision, after appropriate training.
- Support irrigation management, including checking lines and ensuring proper water distribution.
- Contribute to vineyard hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines diligently.
Required Skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Australian Driver's License.
- Basic understanding of agricultural principles or a keen interest in viticulture.
- First Aid certification (desirable but not essential).
