Job Description

Join the Simplot Australia team as a Vegetable Sorter at our Port Macquarie processing facility. This is an ongoing, full-time factory role vital to our production line, offering stable employment and weekly pay. You will be responsible for meticulously inspecting, sorting, and preparing fresh vegetables, ensuring they meet our stringent quality standards before further processing or packaging. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a commitment to food safety, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced team environment. Full training will be provided, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking steady work in the food manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visually inspect and manually sort fresh vegetables (e.g., carrots, peas, beans) to remove any defects, foreign materials, or substandard produce.
  • Operate and monitor sorting machinery, reporting any issues or malfunctions to supervisors.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production targets.
  • Assist with other general factory duties as required, including packing and basic machine cleaning.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality discrepancies.
