Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and highly proficient English language professionals to join our team as TOEFL / IELTS Examiners for assessment. In this crucial part-time role, you will be responsible for conducting speaking and writing tests, evaluating candidates’ English language proficiency according to strict international standards, and maintaining the integrity and security of the examination process. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong commitment to impartiality, and excellent interpersonal skills to create a comfortable and fair testing environment for all candidates. Comprehensive training and certification will be provided to successful applicants, ensuring you are fully equipped to perform your duties to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct IELTS Speaking tests and/or assess IELTS Writing tests according to prescribed criteria and procedures.
- Evaluate candidates' performance fairly, accurately, and consistently, adhering to all assessment guidelines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all test materials and candidate information.
- Adhere to all local and international examination regulations and ethical standards.
- Participate in regular standardisation and training sessions to maintain examiner certification and ensure consistency.
- Provide clear and constructive feedback to candidates where appropriate (for internal training purposes, not directly to candidates).
- Report any irregularities or concerns related to test administration immediately.
Required Skills
- An undergraduate degree or a qualification equivalent to an undergraduate degree.
- A recognised EFL/ESL qualification (e.g., CELTA, DELTA, Cert TESOL).
- At least 2 years of full-time (or equivalent part-time) EFL/ESL teaching experience.
- Excellent command of the English language, equivalent to native speaker proficiency (CEFR C2).
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow complex guidelines precisely.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to impartiality and integrity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Linguistics, English, Education, or a related field.
- Previous experience as an examiner for other high-stakes English language tests.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.
