Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a rewarding career in the construction industry? Tasmanian Construction Group is seeking a motivated and eager Tiler’s Offsider to join our dynamic team in Launceston. This is an incredible opportunity for someone with little to no experience to learn valuable trade skills, including waterproofing and tiling, from experienced professionals. You will play a crucial support role to our qualified tilers, ensuring projects run smoothly and efficiently. If you’re hands-on, reliable, and keen to learn a trade, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist qualified tilers with all aspects of tiling and waterproofing work.
- Prepare work areas, including cleaning, setting up tools, and materials.
- Cut, mix, and transport tiling compounds, adhesives, and grouts.
- Move and handle tiles, ensuring they are stored and presented correctly.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
- Learn and apply waterproofing techniques under supervision.
- Learn and apply tiling techniques for various surfaces.
- Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines.
- Assist with other general site duties as required.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor.
- Strong work ethic and a reliable, punctual attitude.
- Eagerness to learn and develop new trade skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
- Must possess a valid White Card (Construction Induction Card).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physical role or outdoor work (desirable but not essential).
- Basic understanding of construction site environments (desirable).
- Current driver's license and reliable transport.
